Hi, to say this is frustrating is an extreme understatement. 

I have a site that the css renders properly in most browsers, but in IE version 8.0.6001.1882IC it ignores some of the margin attributes that are in the css page.  However, for IE version 8.0.6001.18702, the css renders correctly.  I have no idea how to fix this but if microsoft expects us to have to test our pages for rendering in different versions of browsers along with previous IE releases that's getting to be to much.

Could someone point me in the right direction?

i've been having the exact same problem all day, and yes, frustrating is an extreme understatment.  the only way i found around it was to go into the developer tools, and change the mode from quirks to IE8 standards, but this still isn't acceptable, because my clients aren't going to be satisfied if they have to modify the way their browser displays their site.  i'm afraid i have no real help for you, because i came here looking for help with the same issue.  it would be great if microsoft would just develop IE in such a way that it could "play nice" with CSS.  or maybe people could just stop using inferior web browsing software and leave IE behind.
