There are a couple problems that discourage me from using Expression Web to edit php files.

 

1. If the page changes externally, the php file doesn't reload. There's no prompt. It doesn't detect changes. If I want to watch the php log for changes I can't open the log in expression web and expect to see changes. Or if I change the php with an external editor, I don't get a notification.

 

2. I'm using the joomla library, which is a large library. When I browse a source file and use file open, I want the open dialog to start at the path of the current file. Defaulting to some other sticky place slows me down.

Be aware that you are talking to other EW users here, not Microsoft.  If you wish to put in a request for features, you need to talk to Microsoft.
