问题描述

C：\sample> xbootmgr -trace boot

When I try to use the MS performance tools Xperf to analyse my system(Win7 RTM, Ultimate), I encounter a issue. my process as follow:
I open the command line with "Run as administrator" run the xperf under c:\sample\
C:\sample>xbootmgr -trace boot
it system will reboot, after I login, it will countdown 2 minute. after that. I reopen the command line with "Run as administrator", and found there is some files under c:\sample\
boot_BASE+CSWITCH_1.cab
boot_BASE+CSWITCH_1.etl
xbootmgr.log
I run the command as follow:
C:\sample>xperf -i boot_BASE+CSWITCH_1.etl -o boot.xml -a boot
[1/2] 100.0%
[2/2] 100.0%
Execute: boot [0x80004005]
when I open the boot.xml, there is just only sentence as follow:
Boot action failed: SMSS process not found.
I already test in two different NB (Win7), Both are same issue
What's the happen, and how to resolve this? Thanks a lot!
P.S My Performance Analyzer version number is: 4.1.6512

WPT 4.1.x is not compatible with Win7. You need to download WPT 4.6 from the Windows 7 RTM SDK from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=c17ba869-9671-4330-a63e-1fd44e0e2505&displaylang=en. Just run the web installer and choose to install Win32 Development Tools.
