I recently updated Microsoft.NETCore.UniversalWindowsPlatform in a UWP project from version 6.0.8 to 6.1.2, and then my visual studio(vs community 2017 ver 15.6) can not open any xaml files. 

To reproduce this, just create a blank UWP project, and update Microsoft.NETCore.UniversalWindowsPlatform to 6.1.2, build and deploy it, then click MainPage.xaml. VS will show an "opening file" dialog and hang there. 

But if you then downgrade to 6.0.8, redeploy and reopen the solution, everything would be fine again.

So may this is probably a bug with version 6.1.2. Am I alone with this situation? thx!

This problem is more related to Visual Studio. I suggest that you could report this problem in the VS FeedBack.

Click the "Help" button in the tool bar, choose send a feedback and report a problem.
