I have 2 computers connected by a router, both with xp professional. Both computers can ping each other and receive replies. They can also both play Age Of Empires II over LAN against each other.

I have run create a network wizard on both computers under the same workgroup name but they can still not see each other under view workgroup computers.

I have tried going to "Run" then \\computername but i cant see the other computer.

If you can help...PLEASE!, as i have been trying to get this working for weeks.

That said, there are several things to try. Make sure you can ping by name, not just IP. Try it after disabling firewalls on both computers. Have you disabled any "unnecessary" services? (some websites have some not-so-great instructions on which services to disable for increased performance).
