I have a solution dependent on Xamarin that consitently freezes Visual Studio while being loaded: The code appears, but the GUI locks at a certain point and it becomes impossible to switch to the window, even though the system doesn't mark the window as "not responding".
I believe this was caused by interrupting another app working with the same project.
What didn't solve the issue
- (Successfully) manually cleaning the solution: "/c/Program Files (x86)/MSBuild/14.0/Bin/MSBuild.exe" -t:Clean
- (Successfully) repairing Visual Studio
- Shutting down and (re)starting the PC
- (Re)moving ~/AppData/Local/Microsoft/VisualStudio/14.0
- Cloning manually into the directory with the same name as before
- At first it seemed to have solved the problem, but even after cloning into a new directory using VS's Open From Source Control... the problem occurred again
NOTE: The first command was executed in the dir containing .sln, 14.0 will be your version, and if bash syntax confuses you, "/" means "\", "/c" means "C:", "-" means "/", "~" means "C:/Users/User".

I got the following warnings beforehand:
- The 'XamarinShellPackage' package did not load correctly (imgur 4eodLsb)

I've resolved this separate issue by downloading and installing Xamarin for Visual studio via the installer at https://dl.xamarin.com/XamarinforVisualStudio/Windows/Xamarin.VisualStudio_4.7.10.22.msi (in the future you'll have to search for this because I don't know how to find out the current build number (22 above). The version you can find at https://store.xamarin.com/account/my/subscription/downloads -> View all versions -> Xamarin.iOS or Xamarin.Android -> Windows)

Looks like that you have tried many steps for solving this issue. If the repair still doesn't work, there is another possibility that machine hardware or system requirement limit the Xamarin packages loading.
Could you share us your computer detailed configure information?
Please check and install all the system patches and updates, clean the %temp% folder . Open the "C:\Users\MyWinId\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\VisualStudio\14.0\ActivityLog.xml" to check what error that loged in this file.
