I have a 1st generation Kinect that I am trying to use on my Win 7 machine.  The problem is, my PC has an onboard webcam.  When I installed Kinect SDK and installed necessary drivers I was successful in getting the Kinect to work correctly.  However I happened to notice that it completely disabled my onboard webcam.

Kinect will use over 60% of the available USB2 bandwidth and if you are sharing a USB2 host controller with the webcam, then that will cause the dropout. You need to try another port to connect the Kinect into, since the port you used may be already assigned to motherboard devices.
