Hi All,

I have created a windows sservice and installed it on my local machine.  Then I have created a web application to strat and stop that windows service from web application.  It works fine.  Now I deployed my web application on my local IIS.  And now when I try to start/stop windows servcie from local IIS,  It gives me an error like "can't open windows service on this machine."

Help will be appreciated.

Without more information, I woud guess that your web application does not have sufficient authority to start/stop windows services. 

Your web service is going to have to impersonate a user who does have sufficient authority.
