I have a VB project I'm working on in Visual Studio 2008.  With no experience using the embedded Crystal Reports I'm finding it pretty frustrating.  I have an Excel 2007 spreadsheet from which I'd like to get the values of several cells on different worksheets and display that information along with some other data in a Crystal Reports report. 

The first issue I run into when trying to create a new connection using the Crystal Reports wizard is that it appears to support Excel versions no higher than Excel 8.  Isn't that Excel 97?  Though I can see the Excel file I'm trying to connect to I get an error message from Crystal Reports saying it can't read the encrypted file.  My VB app has no problem reading data from the encrypted spreadsheet, so why would Crystal Reports?  Any help or direction would be very much appreciated.  BTW, I posted a similar question on the Business Objects forum days ago with no response.  That's a great source for help.
