Where do i start and how ? I got no clue ? Please give me a slight push to begin coding.

Depends on a couple of things. if I was going to go step by step from scratch( which I did about 6 months ago myself) I would do the following.

1) Learn C# - There are many great books out there; I used John Sharp's Step-by-Step Visual C# 2008 and it was terrific. read it from the very start and about 400 pages in it will start to make sense

2) Learn Windows Forms - Windows Forms are a bit more intuitive than wpf so while i was learning C# i would practice with Windows Forms in visual studio.

3) Go for it - WPF is extremely similar to windows forms, i just didnt find it as good for learning because its a bit more powerful. Honestly though, you really should not have any problem with it once youre comfortable with c# and the basic visual studio environment.

by the way, in case you didnt know visual studio 2008 express can be downloaded free from microsoft and its quite similar to the professional version minus some stuff you wouldnt need by yourself right away anyhow (web development and server explorer are the only two that i can think of).
