Apply the Gantt Chart view and then double-click anywhere in the white part of the Gantt Chart pane.  In the Bar Styles dialog, make sure the Task item is selected at the top of the dialog and then click the Text tab in the lower left corner.  In the Text section at the bottom of the dialog, click the Left pick list and select the Resource Names option.  Select the Right cell (where you currently see the Resource Names field selected), press the Backspace key to delete the Resource Names item, and then press the Enter key.

If you are using Manually Scheduled tasks in your project, select the Manual Task, Duration-only, and Manual Task (Warning) items individually in the top half of the dialog, and repeat the steps in the first paragraph.  If you have the Critical Path displayed in your project, you will need to repeat these steps after selecting the Critical item in the top half of the dialog as well.  Click OK when finished.  You should now see the resource names on the LEFT end of each Gantt bar.
