I installed MSSX 2008 on my sharepoint server, restarted, and now I can't load my sharepoint site at all.

All i get is the error:  Cannot connect to the configuration database

I went to the KB article about this:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/823287 

But i cannot even find a SQL database named MSSQLSERVER or MSSQL$Sharepoint!  I only have "SQL Server 2005 Embedded Edition (MICROSOFT##SSEE)" and "SQL Server (OFFICESERVERS)" showing in services.  When i set up Sharepoint i think i let it install the default SQL Server settings.  Both of these are started in services so i'm not sure what the heck is going on.

I also have found this in my event log:

The schema version (3.1.3.0) of the database SharePoint_AdminContent_10bf8b22-5b52-47a3-92a4-72c83bfdbd68 on PHI002WS\Microsoft##SSEE is not consistent with the expected database schema version (3.1.8.0) on PHI002WS. Connections to this database from this server have been blocked to avoid data loss. Upgrade the web front end or the content database to ensure that these versions match.
