I would like to know if it is possible to modify the Microsoft IME as it is used for syllabaries like Japanese kana or Korean hangul to write other syllabaries such as Canadian Aboriginal Syllabics (used to write languages like Cree and Inuktitut). At the moment the only option is to use existing layouts where each key is coded to a specific symbol; I would like to be able to type these syllabaries through the QWERTY layout. For example, on the Microsoft IME for Japanese, typing 't' and 'a' in succession would generate the kana syllable for 'ta' (た). Similarly, I would like to be able to generate the Inuktitut symbol for 'ta' (ᑕ) by typing 't' and 'a' successively.
