My project in VS2005 no longer allows me to change the image property at design time for any of the controls within the project. Other projects, including projects within the same solution, are fine.

With the failing project, when I click on the ellipsis on any Image property (BackgroundImage, InitialImage, Error Image, etc) I get an error box saying "An item with the same key has already been added" instead of the usual image selection dialog.

Changing images etc is fine at run time and the application appears to work totally as expected, but the design time environment for this project only has an issue.

Can anyone give me a clue as to where the problem may lie?

Hi Gareth

Assuming you are talking about working with WPF or Silverlight projects (since this is the forum for that topic), the CTP of WPF tools for Visual Studio 2005 was a very early pre-release and is not supported. We do not recommend its continued use, because it contains many bugs and issues that were not resolved until the first supported release of the WPF and Silverlight designer in Visual Studio 2008. 

If you are moving from Visual Studio 2005 I highly recommend that you check out the new Visual Studio 2010 WPF and Silverlight designer which has many useful capabilities which we believe you will find useful. The designer is available in all the Visual Studio 2010 SKUs, including the free Express Editions.
