Hello,

Encoder 4 supports multip formats for captions, subtitles, and descriptions. In Transcoder or Silverlight jobs, import your media item. Once that is loaded, select the Text tab at the bottom next to the Sources tab. Click the + button next to the name of your media file. This will open a dialog that will allow you import the following formats:

.ismt, ismv, txt, dfxp, xml, lrc, smi, sami, srt, sub

Those same formats are supported in live as well but the import process is different. From the Script Commands tab, click the cog button at the bottom left and select import.
