I am doing the support of Microsoft Project Server 2010 and have a need to configure custom fields, Lookup tables. I also need to move this configuration from Development to Pre-Production to Production instance. I wanted to know if there are any best practices to programmatically migrate the configuration from one environment to another. Will PowerShell scripts help here? Can I get an example if available.

I found lot of examples on migrating projects, publishing projects etc. However I am not looking for those. I am looking for a sample deployment script (assuming its Powershell) for the configuration done on the Project Server.
