Hi,

So we are in the midst of starting our first Silverlight application development effort and we are trying to get our designer involved early and we are looking into him using Expression Blend in order to skin/theme our application.

The designer has Expression Blend but does NOT have Visual Studio (NOTE: This is Expression Blend 4 & VS 2010).

Can the designer create a theme/skin for our application without Visual Studio installed?  We don't necessarily want the designer loading all of the source code in order to be able to accomplish his/her tasks.  Is this possible?

Any information or advice would greatly be appreciated.

I think this is exactly the scenario these tools were created.  The Designer can design the UI in XAML, and then the developer can code the underlying logic and link the two together.  What you would want to do is have two separate projects.  One to do the UI and the other to contain the application logic.  The Developer would have both projects open in VS, but the designer would only have the UX project in Expression Blend 4.
