I have been going through the profile integrator documentation and it looks similar to the propagate attribute orchestration of CSF 2.5. I have many doubts which i have listed below.

1. Where does the user information gets stored? Is it not in Active directory? i heard that the profile data will be stored in RDF database. how it is different from storing it in AD. I know RDF supports flexible schema to store additional information. But, many a times, we use default attributes of AD schema like firstName, lastName, telephone, fascimile number etc and we update these attributes as part of user creation in AD.
