I'm pretty new to the reporting tool and have a question about how to display my data in my report.

 

I have a report that I am passing a dataset into.  My dataset has the format of:

1    EmployeeName       Date    ClockIn(1)        ClockOut(1)

2    EmployeeName       Date    ClockIn(2)        ClockOut(2)

3    EmployeeName2     Date    ClockIn(1)        ClockOut(1)

4    EmployeeName2     Date    ClockIn(2)        ClockOut(2)

........................

 

I want to be able to display this information grouped by the date and employeeName.  So I want my report to look something like this:

 

Date (Monday)

     Employee 1

                Clock In (1)               Clock Out (1)

                Clock In (2)               Clock Out (2)

     Employee 2

                Clock In (1)               Clock Out (1)

                Clock In (2)               Clock Out (2)

 

Date (Tuesday)

     Employee 1

                Clock In (1)               Clock Out (1)

                Clock In (2)               Clock Out (2)

     Employee 2

                Clock In (1)               Clock Out (1)

                Clock In (2)               Clock Out (2)

I've been experimenting with using a design table and/or subreports to create this report.  Could someone point me in the right direction on how to get started with this?  The tables don't seem to allow you to display the (date / employee) aspects of my report.  And I get an error about being able to generate my subreport whenever I try to add that.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!
