When I go to one of our Team Project Collections and create a New Team Project within here, four work items are automatically created for this project. These are . . . . .

1) Add Baseline Code

2) Add licence and Equipment Shamrock Number if applicable.

3) Release Code - Apply Label

4) Test Code

If I need to make changes for a new release, I will "Branch" this code so that I can keep the history, while at the same time have a new Branched version which I can modify for new requirements. When I "Branch" the code, I was hoping that four more work items would automatically be created for this branched version, similar to the ones that were created when I created the New Team Project.

Is there a way of doing this and how can I control it so that maybe only 3 default ones are created instead of four for example?

We use VS 2013 but would this be covered if we were to upgrade to VS 2015 ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you for posting here.

There is no such feature to create work items automatically when you create the team project by default. But you could try to create your own TFS Plugin to achieve that, you could refer to this sample:
