Sorry I am not sure what you exactly mean "when you click an item you navigate to the said item page"

If you want to display selected item stuff in the same page, search the Blend User Guide (under Help button) search "Create a list-details data binding", you will find the instruction page under this title on how to do that without touching code behind

If you want to display seleted item stuff in another page, you may do that with a little code-behind work, I had a blog described that: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/harryh/
