Hi Guys,

I am using MS Project 2013 Professional Edition.

I have multiple tasks to be executed by same set of resources starting on the same day. But each of the task have different end date.

Ex: Task 1 from 28 Jan - 4 Feb, Task 2 from 28 Jan - 10 Feb, etc.. 
Resource 1, 2 will work on these tasks.. 

(1) I am trying to get my schedule to say that, on task 1, resource 1 has time till 4 Feb and on task 2 till 10 Feb to complete the task but has to start on the same day which is 28 Jan. Is there a way to schedule this without resource conflicts?  

(2) If I ignore the resource conflicts, will my cost report display accurate numbers? 
Each resource has been given a per day rate in the resource sheet. I believe the right amount of effort spent by each resource will have to be entered to accomplish accurate cost figures?

In this situation a Start No Earlier Than (SNET) constraint (on task 100) would work.  You would however want to also give it a specific time to start.  Do this in the Task Information dialog box, on Advanced tab.  First change the constraint field to SNET, then in the constraint date field, enter the date, then a space, then the time - such as: 3/1/2012 10:00AM.

You can use the Task Usage view to fine tune assignments. However the final solution should depend on what is the most efficient way of completing each task.

Ideally one task at a time is most efficient. However if each task requires two different skill sets, then it may be simpler to break the task into sub-tasks. That would show optimized time and cost best. Most likely tweaking hours in the Task Usage View is quickest.
