I just downloaded Expression Encoder 4 and started a new live broadcasting project. When I try to choose the camera from the Video Device dropdown, I get the following error: "Cannot create device. The device may be in use by another program.". What could be wrong? I bing'ed, but could not find anything useful..

It appears that the Firewire on the camera outputs HDV over Firewires not SD DV. Expression does not support HDV over Firewire (a real P.T.A!). Check to see if the camera can "down" sample to Standard Definition over Firewire. If not, you may need to consider a Black Magic Intensity Card and use that to capture from the HDMI output of the PMW.
