We recommend that the Sql Server be installed on a machine other than the Cache Server role. The reason is that Caching service is memory intensive and so is Sql Server. Under a reasonable load, there is a possibility that the machine might run low on RAM and this can cause side effects such as the cache service going into throttling or dying.
