I have developed one windows application using VB.NET and back end is MS Access (mdb format).In that application many data base operations are available. I have used Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0 provider and check the execution time of the process and i have changed to Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0 provider and check the execution time for same function

Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0 is faster than Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0. Why Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0 is faster ? 

Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0 is only support for mdb format of access DB. if i use Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0 provider than it will be any impact on future? 

How long Microsoft will support mdb format of MS Access DB ?

The life cycle is here and has ended.

In regards to mdb faster then accdb, mdb format is a lighter weight version of MS-Access.

I've not done anything with mdb format for years nor accdb but do remember for the apps I build using VB.NET, Oledb data provider there were never issues on medium size apps that had 20 active users.

If the mdb format does everything you need and works on the current operation system your customers run on then stick with it yet know that mdb format is much more susceptible to corruption than the newer version.
