I have VS 2017 Community Edition, and I'm trying to set a conditional compilation symbol in VS. To avoid typing the same #DEFINE in every file, and manually removing that when needed.

Most guides suggest clicking Build > Configuration Manager, and adding a new solution configuration that I can set the symbol in. I was able to do so, and the new configuration (PropertyGroup) appears in the csproj. However I am unable to edit the properties, including the symbols, in VS. Every guide suggests clicking a 'Build' tab that i do not see in the project properties window. As well, the 'Property pages' button does nothing. I cannot include a screenshot as of yet, as my account is not verified.
