The Task Board (and web client tools in general) have really come a long way in the last few TFS releases.  We're using the task board constantly now, however I have one question: If a multiple Requirements have a single Task assigned to perform the work... what is the best way to depict this on the task board?

Since work items cannot have multiple parents, and the task board appears to only use parent-child links... then in a situation where one task is used to work on multiple requirements, I'm stuck without a good way to visualize it.

Seems like I'm stuck with choosing one Requirement to be the Parent (which creates an appearance that many of the other requirements on the board aren't tasked), creating a duplicate task for every requirement (which adds the overhead of keeping multiple tasks updated, along with excess noise).

Any suggestions would be great.  Thanks!

Thank you for posting here.

Yes, you are right. Work items cannot have multiple parents. If you add a task as another link type to Requirement, it will show on the task board after Unparented .

Could you merge requirements which have same tasks together?  It is a little weird you let a single Task work for multiple Requirement.

Why your requirements have same task?

In CMMI process template, the relationship of work item types is shown in the image below:

You could split your requirement into multiple Tasks.
