For quite some time i try to generate a live smooth stream via IIS 7.0 and Expression Encoder 3.0/4.0 .

First I used a server with a fixed IP. All necessary software was installed and the encoder streams as it was supposed. However the stream jerks during playback, because the server perfomance was to low. So i decided to change the server.

I rent a virtuall server by amazon, which should deliver enough power for live smooth streaming. Once again i installed all the software: Design Experience, WMS 2008, Media Services 3.0, Expression Encoder 3.0 and the QFE-Update. But this time the streaming doesn't run. The problem seems to be that WMS 2008 refusing to add a Server in his interface. When i try to add a server and assign the application the ip of the virtuall server, the application refuse connecting with the machine. If i try it with localhost, the server was added, but was not accessible. I have controlled Windows Firewall, amazon firewall, security policies, ports, ISS and so on, but i found nothing thats blocks the ip. The ISS is accessible under the virtuall IP, but the WMS refuse to connect the IP. Without WMS 2008 the Encoder couldn't deliver http-streaming. Installed on the server is Windows 2008 R2.

I'm completely at a loos and open for every tip. Has anyone worked with WMS 2008 on a virtuall server ?
