Hi,
I have run into a scenario and I am looking for recommendations.
1) I have two TFS instances
- one is TFS 2012 which is in use . Lets call it Instance A. It doesn't have sharepoint components enabled and is used only for version control.
- one is TFS 2015 which is in use.Lets call it Instance B. It has sharepoint components part enabled.
2) To have just one instance , thought is to
- Detach collection from TFS 2012
- Backup DB in TFS 2012
- Restore to TFS 2015 SQL server
- Attach collection
Do I need to take care of anything regarding missing sharepoint web app connection at any point of time during this process?
I am looking for recommendations of the best approach and Do you see any gotchas?

Thank you for posting here
Since you want to move the team project collection from the early version(2012) to the new version(2015), you must also then upgrade each team project within the collection by using the Configure Features wizard. For detailed information, you could refer to the following link:
