Is there any possibility to get the entity framework running with ms access? How much effort would it require to write an ef provider directly for access (not ole db)?

Unfortunately I am stuck with the access database and can't replace it (not even with a sql-server and linked tables). So either I have to get the entity framework running with access or I have to drop the entity framework.

you can try to look at sample at http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/EFSampleProvider. But I don't think it's worth to spend time on Access, considering all the limitations. Maybe in same time you'll be able to move you application to real database i.e. ms sql.
