I'm trying to set up the back-up network path for my TFS. When I tried to connect to the network path, the verification failed stating that the "NT AUTHORITY\LOCAL SERVICE" service account is not authorized for the network access. 

Can anyone advise on how I can allow the service account access to the designated network path?

OR alternatively, am I supposed to use another user account to manage the TFS?

You need to change the service account to a domain account.

Local Service is only valid within the same server, so it won't be able to use a Network share.
