Actually, we have coded UI projects on Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate, i wonder how to migrate them to the latest version of VS.

So could you help me on following questions, please ? 

- To which latest version of VS that i can migrate my current project coded UI ?

- What are the requirements for this migration ?

- Is there any risk that we have to pay more during and after the migration ?

- What is the price of this migration ?

As far as I know, for Visual Studio 2017, only the Enterprise version support Coded UI Testing, and the latest version is 15.6.2. You could use that version to open the coded UI test project which created in VS2012.

Please make sure the VS2017 on your computer has installed the coded UI test components.

>>- Is there any risk that we have to pay more during and after the migration ?

Based on my understanding, the risk is existed. There are lots of situations, for example:

• You have installed some plugins or extension in VS2012 that do not support the high version.
• You have installed lower version assembly, and it has been removed in VS 2017.
• Different version of the .NET Framework, Visual Studio 2017 requires .NET Framework 4.6 or higher.

>> What is the price of this migration ?

In general, the new version of VS is supported the older versions, if you encounter any issue when you use the coded UI test in the new version, please post your issue in this forum, Microsoft engineers will help you solve the problem.
