We are starting to develop new applications in our company and we are using Visual Studio's TFS for source control and work items tracking. Epic, Features, User stories, Tasks/Bugs etc. will be created based on the requirements gathered. Now, we want to have a feature set of our application (i.e. all the features that our application has) and document each and every feature in terms of its business need, workflow, process etc. 

As our requirements will get translated into Epics/Features/User stories, so we thought its a good idea to have a documentation (Blue prints, Specifications documents, UMLs etc.) of each Feature/User story right in the TFS. Is this a good approach?

The problem that we foresee with this approach is that as new user stories will continue to come, which will be related to existing features/user stories so how do we maintain the feature set and documentation for our application properly?

P.S: we are not talking about the end user documentation here, its the technical documentation of each feature/user story that we want to document.

Or, there are any specific tools that are available to properly document your application (which can preferrably go hand in hand with the TFS work items)

Welcome to the MSDN forum.

It seems your issue is about the TFS, our forum is to discuss the VS IDE. Refer to this and we can report a problem with TFS itself on Developer Community, provide a suggestion on UserVoice, get advice on Stack Overflow, and get support on TFS Support.

As far as I know, there is no such feature in the TFS and we can only control the documents like code in the TFS and no tool to create documents. You can try to share this suggestion on the User Voice to the VS Product Team, thank you for your understanding.
