I need to define an applciation where a user will select a picture from a list, then he will be able to apply different style template on that particular picture.

For exmaple a first styling could be that I have the selected picture displayed.

I am reluctant to respond to this thread as it may highlight my ignorance but here goes.  This sounds like something you could use Expression Blend for. You make your deign templates which you make with Design and import them to Blend as assets using xmal.  but you may need help as this project is going to requere som server side programming either with .ASP or php/mysql.  note that with .asp you will also need a windows based server with IIS basically a widows platform.  Then use blend to put it all together and you have it.  Sounds a lot easier than it is but with some help you can do it.  It sounds like you may be more able to handle the artisstic side of and need some help with the techno stuff.  I hope this helps you to start to visualize a plan to maake you project happen.
