So I got around to learning about C++ after perhaps a dozen other languages (Visual Basic, Perl, .Net, C, PHP, etc, etc) and for some reason I have run into a massive snag. I am unable to install any IDE or SDK that will allow me to run any or most C++ functions, assignments, operators, basically almost anything. NetBeans and Eclipse have both completely conked out and are unable to address C++ and VisualStudio has about 10% of its capabilities, making almost any script unable to be written.

It is very hard ot diagnose problems in the abstract.  It would help if you provided a concrete example of something you tried to do along with the exact error message that resulted.
