I have created a new work item in scrum template, similar to PBI work item. I have worked in 2013.4 scrum template, with state changing in Bug work item, with multiple options in Reason field and got success.

When i tried the same in new template with a new created "Custom work item" and changed workflow with specifying reasons, with 1 default reason and other optional, its just showing default reason only, not the optional fields. And i tried this with existing PBI, to my surprise PBI reason field is also not showing optional fields in Reason, which was showing in old template.

If the reason is template, it's new template with EPIC work item. Which is not included in Scrum old template. How can i know the template and if needed how can i update to the safest new template.

Did you use the TFS2015. I think you could change the Readonly to "False" or just delete it like the followings:
