I just have a question. Why are there some projects that can't be found in the Working Store but are in the Published Store?

I use MS Project Professional 2010 and connect to Project Server 2010. To illustrate my point,  I go to the File tab, hit Open> Retrieve the list of all projects from Project Server. At the bottom of the window you see 'Store' then you have the option to switch between Working and Published. I understand if there are more Projects listed under Working since these projects I believe are in the Draft state versus the ones under Published since there the ones that got published. However there was a project that could be selected under the Published store only and could not be found in the Working store. When this happens, the said project is in Read Only and could not be modified.

Could someone give me an idea as to why this happened?

The Published version of a project can only be opened in read-only mode. That is by design.
It is strange however that the project does not show up in the Working (Draft) store.

Does this happen only for you? Can others see the project in the Working store?

If you go to PWA -> Project Center, can you open the project in Edit mode (=draft) from there?
