Is this possible? I have a team project AMT with source control which is under development. Another team will start adding other modules to this with end result being RDS with AMT as a module. We want to as easy as possible maintain a whole different team and work items. I thought of lot of work method on my part being just creating duplicates of all work item types and have like Epic - RDS, Feature - RDS, etc. I could constrain all the assigned to etc within there.
If I can go the 2 projects route I would have CI running and test before checkin.

Thank you for posting here.
There is no such feature in TFS now. We could not create 2 TFS projects that use the same source control tree, one team project use one source control root. About this issue, I submit a uservoice for you, you could vote for it and TFS Product Team is listening to your voice there:
And if you want to manage the work items from other team project, you could create a query then select "Query across projects", then you could use the field "Team Projects" to get work items from other team project.
