Hello,

I have Project 2010 Standard and am trying to figure out how to export to Excel, and nothing I've seen on the forums seems to address my problem. Everything starts by saying "go to Save As... and choose .xls, and it will bring up the export wizard."

However, when I choose Save As, the only save types available to me in the dropdown menu are:

.mpp, .mpt, and .pdf.

The .mpp and .mpt options have different variations for 2010, 2007, and 2000-2003, but nowhere is there an .xls, or any other kind of save option.

Is there something I should be doing first to make this option available? Is there any other way for me to export into Excel? It's very important for what I'm doing to be able to export into Excel so I can make readable spreadsheets for my managers.

Greater,

In the Save As window you should see a whole list of formats in the "Save as type" selection box. Three of them relate to Excel:

Excel Workbook (Project 2010 saves as xlsx)

Excel Binary Workbook

Excel 97-2003 Workbook (the old xls format)

If you don't see those formats, then it's possible you didn't do a normal full install of Project (i.e. some elements weren't installed) or you don't have Office installed on your computer (very unlikely). You should also make sure you have SP1 for Project installed. To download it, go to, http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/office/ee748587.
