I just needed to say that Windows7 and Expression Encoder is really messing things up for us.
Im having all sorts of hangins and driver problems plus the trusted WME9 is not a safe bet and back up anymore because of technology shits or whatever is happening.

Im disapponted of the lack of information and sorry to see that Microsocft has messed this field up as it has.
I have a strong feeling that this WindowsMedia field is not managed by anyone, or im certain that they are doing a lousy job.

I see signs of improvement and hope they will com about in the next year.

This is the Expression Encoder user forum, a very different effort than Windows Media, from a different team in a different division. What I can tell you about it: while the general WM efforts continue on via MediaFoundation, the Window Media Encoder is being completely phased out sometime this year. Note that it has been on life support for over 4 years already. Even though we're not affiliated with them, while our main focus is being part of the Expression family of products, the small Expression Encoder team is also trying to fill the void of what the lack of WME updates has been for their users over the last few year, as well adding up extra features for them, like richer editing, Silvelight experience integration, MP4 encoding, IIS SmoothStreaming, etc.

We try our best to listen to our users, fixing found bugs as soon as possible as well as trying squeeze in their feature requests whenever possible. So if you find specific issues about Expression Encoder that you want resolutions about, please communicate them on this forum so we can try to provide you with a workaround and/or possibly a solution on our next release, whether it's a QFE, SP or another major release. Also note that the best time to give feedback to us about an issue is early in the product cycle (aka when a product ships) to ensure something is done within the next cycle (which is usually short via a QFE or SP).

As your higher management questions of WM, I doubt you'll have answers on a user forum, especially when your questions are regarding another product (WM and WME).
