Making the chnage from Microsoft Image Composer to Design and can't figure out how to simply outline my text to make it stand out on a background.
I looked under effects but there is no "edge" option.
What am I missing?

I'm pretty new to this, but by default text does not have a stroke set on it.  Make sure you select a stroke pattern, like the solid line, then you can change the color so it stands out.

Another option would be to copy the same text, put it on another layer, then offset it a little from the original text.  You can get some cool effects doing that.
