The Splash Screen for my Universal Windows Phone app doesn't show correctly in portrait mode, instead it shows my landscape splash screen for a couple seconds with the background color I specified (white), then it scales it to fit the screen, and changes the background to black.

I'm quite new to Visual Studio and UWP app development. In the Package.appxmanifest file I can only see the option to add a landscape splash screen. There is no option to add the portrait resolution that is supposed to be used by my app (since it only works in that orientation).

Normally your splashscreen contains only an image (.png) with transparent background color.
