I am relatively new to code. I take a computer science course at my school and downloaded Microsoft Visual Studio at home as well. On my home computer, though, I'm having some issues while writing code. (C#, ConsoleApp, .NET Framework)

When I selected a certain word, letter, or space in the code, the program automatically highlights the whole thing. For example, if I try to add a letter into the middle of a word, the whole word is replaced by that letter. This isn't like this at the school computers.

Definitely not the normal behaviour of the Visual Studio IDE as far as I know. It higlights the keywords your cursor is placed in, but it doesn't select them. To select the whole word you usually need to press <CTRL+W>, on Windows systems at least. Are you working with a special screen, a touch screen or sth like that?
