I am trying to point TFS server to a different database on a new hardware. Is it feasible to use "Remove Feature" (see attached image) in the Admin Console. Does it have any negative impact ?? Is there any chance of corruption of database?

Yes, you can use this Remove Feature to remove current TFS AT, Build Server and Proxy Server, then select Application-Tier Only in configure wizard to use another new hardware’s SQL Server to configure your new TFS AT.
