We have set up a Release Management pipeline using vNext Release Templates with PS/DSC. We noticed that every release step takes about 1:47m to complete, whereas the actual tasks that are performed within each step (i.e. copying the component and executing the PowerShell script) take only a few seconds. We tested this by copying files and executing PowerShell scripts outside of Release Management.

One of our deployments took about half an hour to complete (and should have taken only a few minutes). (I wanted to include a screenshot but got "Body text cannot contain images or links until we are able to verify your account." when trying to submit this question.)

We also tested this with a minimal component, containing only one file (one PowerShell script), but even then the deployment took about 1:47m.

Can you tell us what the reason is for this delay? What should be done in order to speed up this process?
