I'm new to SharePoint lists and InfoPath forms. I've successfully tested writing new list record from InfoPath form by merely emptying the ID field. Doing this captured all fields on original record plus updates on screen into a new list record. This worked very nicely and consistently when testing the form using InfoPath Designer/client tool, and I would not need to create any workflow to accomplish this. However, executing the same after publishing to SharePoint 2010 errors out, when the rule to set the ID field to empty is enabled in the form. There's no code in the form, and I'm just using InfoPath form rules.
