Hi, I am offering several interviews in both a .wma and .aac format on my website at http://www.COREresonance.com.  When I test the page, the .wma files are available to download but the .aac files are not..
I notice that when I move the .aac files to the media folder within EW2, they automatically convert to .mp4 which I don't think I want.  I think I want the files to remain as .aac to keep the dowload as easy as possible for iPod owners. 
I wonder if the automatic conversion has something to do with the inability to download the .aac files?
Interestingly, the .wma files download fine, but not the .mp4..
Any thoughts?

As another question, it it necessary to offer two types of files?
Should I be doing this differently?

The extension changes when you move them into
the media folder on your local web, or when you publish them to the server?
You need to check with your hosting company and have them add the .aac mime type
to the list of mime types for your hosting account.
Or, add it yourself if you have a webmasters Control Panel.

A mime type tells the server and the browser what to do with the file.
The mime type is:  aac audio/x-aac
