I have the ability to have unlimited sub domains on my unix web host, it appears to me to be nothing more than another folder out on the host that I use the host  Cpanel app that then gets the folder probagated to all the DNS servers.  End result would be I could access the folder like www.test.stokesabode.com instead of just a folder www.stokesabode.com/test.  If I do this using EW2 can I simply create a folder in my current site, publish the folder, then go to the Cpanel and make the folder what the host sees as a subdomain.  Or do I have to establish a new "local" Ew2 page that publishes just to the subdomain folder?  Hope this makes sense, tried to explain as easy as I understand the process.

I don't publish from EW as I use a standalone FTP client.  Having said that I would bet that you can just publish to that folder just like any other folder in your root web folder.  What makes it a subdomain over just a folder in your server is the DNS information and setting beyond what you can directly access.  This means to you it looks just like a folder so treat it that way.

Keep in mind that subdomains are treated as a different domain to Google so make sure to post and use subdomain links and not a folder link attached to your main domain.  Don't mix the two.
