The Codeproject uses ASP.NET webforms. This can be validated by looking at the URLs on most pages and the pages that are using search engine friendly urls, you can go ahead and check the page source and find the viewstate in the generated HTML.

As I understand, some of the logic in the engine sitting behind doing some core stuff could have used some other programming language too. I am guessing C++.
