How can I stop email workflows from triggering everytime an item is updated or changed. Here are my parameters
1. I have a SharePoint List designed through InfoPath.
2. One of my items is "Status": cancelled; submitted; assigned; etc.
3. Each status has a separate workflow that triggers different emails.
4. It seems as anytime another part of the list, say comments, is updated, the email above will send with the corresponding status.
5. I looked in versions and workflow history and I can see that each workflow is started anytime a change is made on any field of the list form.
How can I stop this from happening? I want emails to send anytime a status is changed, but I don't want emails to send if other fields are updated such as "additional comments." The majority of items changed in other fields will occur in the request status pictured below.

Hi Nick, this comes up often. What I would do is create a hidden column that you use just to track if that status email has already been sent. So for example, if you have status A, B, C, I'd create A Email, B Email, C Email. Then on my conditions for sending the email in my workflow, it would be:
If status = A and A Email not equals Sent
Do stuff
Set A Email to "Sent"
That way you only go through once but can keep the workflow running on all modifications.
